With all the recent excitement of the 2010 FIFA South Africa World Cup it has slightly overshadowed the most prestigious UK annual Tennis Championships taking place at the world-famous Wimbledon location. For those fortunate enough to obtain tickets it is worth also booking travel cards well in advance to get the cheapest available prices.
Car Parking at Wimbledon
There are six car parks allocated for those attending Wimbledon tennis matches which open at 6.30am and are located in Church Road, Somerset Road and Wimbledon Park road. However, it is strongly recommended that all spectators take public transport where possible. On-street parking is not permitted on any of the roads around the All England Club throughout the event with offending vehicles likely to be removed. In addition, due to the one-way system in place during the tournament it will be considerably quicker and more convenient to use the various other modes of transport on offer.
For those who are unable to access public transport, car parking charges are £25 and this is reduced to £10 for those attending matches after 5pm. In addition to nearby parking, there is also a park 'n' ride service operating from Morden Park which costs £15 and includes a free shuttle ride to the grounds.
